Cabernet Sauvignon is the best travelled red wine variety, producing red wines to drink on the fruit when young but that also become serious wines that with time age with subtle splendour. It is known for its dark colour, full bodied style and its exuberant blackcurrant or cassis fruit. Cabernet Sauvignon’s original home is Bordeaux in France where it produces wines often blended with Merlot and Cabernet Franc such as Chateau Noaillac from the Medoc. It is also widely seen in other parts of the world such in South Africa as Excelsior Cabernet Sauvignon, South Australia as Bond Road Cabernet Sauvignon, Kilikanoon and Argentina as Kaiken Terrior Cabernet/Malbec/Merlot.
