Chanzy, Bouzeron, Les Trois, Côte Chalonnaise, France, 2020

Chanzy are one of the largest producers of Aligoté (Burgundy’s little known other white grape). It’s relatively rare and not a whole lot is produced with most of the land in Burgundy favoured to produce Chardonnay or Pinot Noir.
This Aligoté however is a real delight. Freshness in a glass, it’s crisp and zesty with a green note, hinting at something herbal, green but in an attractive sense. Light and mineral on the palate with zippy acidity, just beautifully fresh and very drinkable. A great wine to pull out as an aperitif when you have friends over.
